LNP Updates the Public; Says it has arrested three individuals for stealing a gray Jeep, arrested a Nigerian for rape and it has charged a man in Maryland for killing a motorcyclist

Monrovia- March 30, 2021: The Liberia National Police has arrested three individuals, Prince Nagbe, 34, Amos Kollie, 35 and Morris Kamara, 24 for allegedly stealing a gray Nissan Pathfinder Jeep belonging to the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

During Police investigation, it was revealed that the vehicle was parked at the Embassy’s Compound in Matadi where it got stolen on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00AM. It was also discovered that the Private Security Guards, Prince Nagbe, and Amos Kollie, aided the stealing of the vehicle from the compound.

On March 25, 2021, the stolen vehicle was retrieved at suspect Morris Kamara’s garage in Matadi by the Anti-Robbery Unit of the Liberia National Police.

Meanwhile, the suspects are currently detained at the Headquarters of the Libera National Police pending Court trial.

Alleged Rape Cases

A Nigerian National identified as Prince Jude, 37, a resident of the Barrole Practice Gound, Airfield Community was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl of the same address.

According to Police preliminary investigation, it was established that suspect Prince sent the victim in his room to get something for him, at which time he later followed and raped her.

Meanwhile, suspect Jude is currently detained at the Salem Police Depot in Sinkor undergoing thorough Police probe, while the victim is undergoing a treatment at a nearby Clinic.

Traffic Accident cases reported March 1-15, 2021

During the period March1-15, 2021, Montserrado reported Ten (10) accident cases leaving 3 females and 2 males dead. Nimba reported an accident case where a male rider died while Bong reported an accident case with one female deceased victim.

Maryland Murder Incident

Police in Maryland County has arrested, investigated and duly charged a man identified as Moses Mlamah, 18years for his alleged link in the murder of a motorcyclist identified as Mocdicious Nyemah, 22 and a 12th grade student of the Pleebo high School.

According to Police preliminary investigation, the incident occurred in Bessiken Town around the Maryland Oil plantation at 11:00AM in Pleebo District, Maryland County when the suspect chopped victim Nyemah after the two of them had gone in the bush at the invitation of the suspect to help him get something from the bush.

Suspect Mlamah was picked up on Thursday, March 25, 2021. He has been charged with MURDER in violation of Section 14.1 of the Penal code of the Republic of Liberia and sent to Court for prosecution.
