The Revolutionary National Youth League of the Mighty Coalition for Democratic Change extends profound appreciation to the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah for embarking on a National County Tour at this critical stage in our Nation’s History which has brought to light his fundamental sense of grassroots governance and heightened the pace for socio-economic development for the Motherland. The Youth League believes that the county tour is a bold and brilliant development-driven move that will enable the presentation of the Pro-Poor Agenda to the people and give the President the chance to have a fair assessment of what his government has achieved and what needs to be done to meet the needs and demands of the ordinary masses of our country.

As the Government continues to demonstrate commitment in sustaining the peace and unifying the Liberian populace, the Revolutionary National Youth League’s attention has been drawn to the recent wave of violent acts and anti-democratic tenets across the country. In recent weeks, the country has witnessed some terroristic acts including the throwing of petrol bombs at the residence of the Supreme Court Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe and the headquarters of the National Elections Commission (NEC).

The Revolutionary National Youth League of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) categorically condemns this barbaric act on our democracy and calls on the Government to take legal and constitutional actions to put an end to this creeping level of domestic terrorism and subversive attempt to undermine the peace of the country.

The Youth League believes that such an act of terrorism is been masterminded by an auxiliary within the Collaborating Political Parties that are specialized in ‘throwing petrol bombs and vandalizing properties’. This auxiliary is been headed by Hon. Yekeh Korlubah while Senator Darius Dillon and the newly elected Senator Brownie J. Samukai as their financier and advisor respectively.

As a body of national consciousness, the Youth League likes to state clearly that this recent opposition sponsored violent crackdowns on public officials and state institutions are erupting at a time when elements in the opposition community are issuing threats that amount to a “Declaration of War” on the hard-earned peace and stability and also serves as a recipe for chaos in this country.

In reference to recent violent comments made by Hon. Francis Sakila Nyumalin, he clearly threatened the desolation of the democratically elected government of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and the setting up of an interim administration should the National Elections Commission fail to certificate Mr. Brownie J. Samukai who was recently elected on the ticket of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) , the Youth League warns that such a statement is a clear manifestation of the desperation in the opposition to acquire power by undemocratic means and such must not be taken for granted by the Government of Liberia and its international partners.
It will interest you to note that all the leaders of the collaborating Political Parties including Senator Dillon has remained conspicuously silent on the level of violence in the country. This is a clear indication of Senator Dillon and the CPP’s endorsement of the acts of terrorism and destabilization of the peace of our country.
The Revolutionary National Youth League would like to reiterate that such unfounded and politically motivated comment cannot be taken lightly especially when it is coming from ranking members of the opposition at the level of the Liberian Legislature.

At this critical juncture, the Youth League admonishes the Government of Liberia, the United States Embassy near Monrovia, ECOWAS, and all other international partners to take seriously such comments and requests that the National Security Apparatuses invite Hon. Nyumalin for questioning or to provide clarity on his assertions as it is in itself a threat to national security.

More to that, the RNYL encourages the peace-loving people of Lofa County to clearly disassociate themselves from Hon. Nyumalin’s comments, which is intended to undermine the nurturing peace and stability of Liberia and its democratic gains.
The Youth League sees as a baseless, callous and ill-informed statement emanating from the current Political Leader of the collaborating Political Parties, Hon. Nyomblee Kangar Lawrence, who accused the Government of Liberia of corruption in the Judiciary, incompetence of the National Elections Commission and political collusion against the Rule of Law.
Such bizarre political assertions com
