The Supreme Court of Liberia has suspended a Liberian lawyer from legal practice for one year.

Attorney Joseph Doe’s suspension emanated from an investigative report from the Grievance and Ethics Committee of the Judiciary, which indicted him

Atty.Doe was suspended based on unethical conduct against his client, Justine Achewele, a Nigerian business man whom he represented.

The suspended Lawyer was caught with the opposing party, but later refused to announce an appeal for his client, after the lower court ruled against them.

The Supreme Court, in its March 3, 2021 ruling, maintained that Atty.Joseph Doe action was unethical against his own client, and thereby affirming the lower court decision.

At the same time, the Supreme Court has ended its legal transactions for the October 2020 Term of Court.

The October term was delayed, in order to adjudicate several elections cases from the Special Senatorial elections across the country.
