President Weah submits US$ 10.5 million supplementary budget to the national legislature for enactment

Monrovia- February 9, 2021: President George M. Weah, has submitted for legislative enactment a supplementary budget in the amount of US$ 10.5 million United States Dollars.

The president request for supplementary budget is pursuant to the imperative need for service delivery beyond allocations in the approved budget for F/Y2020/2021.

Pleading with the legislature for the enactment, the president urged members of the August body to kindly give the request their timely consideration to enable the government deliver on programs that are in critical need of funding.

The supplementary budget will cover the expenditure for the pavement of the RIA Highway, production of public schools Chairs, purchase and installation of Transformers; Extension of the Street Light project; Purchase of Hospital Beds amongst others.

According to the budget letter which was introduced in the plenary of the Honorable House of Representatives, the sources of the additional revenue are: Arcelor Mittal, 9 million and Grant/ Kingdom of Morocco, 1.5 million respectively.
