LACRA says Liberia Cocoa has improved from Grade D to Grade B, As Liberia will soon begin to huge quantity of cocoa bean

Monrovia- Feb. 4,2021: On Thursday, the Director General of the Liberia Agricultural Commodity Regulatory Authority( LACRA) Dr. John S. Flomo Jr. and his deputies Hon. Musa Konneh and Ronald K. Mendscole honored an invitation from the Ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism to speak about progress in the Cocoa sector and acomplishments since the team was appointed to two years ago. At the Press briefing, Dr. Flomo named the renovation of warehouses in Gbarnga, Ganta and Monrovia as a milestone Archievement as well as the formulation of a policy document to guide the Cocoa sector. DG Flomo flanked by his Deputy for Operation and Technical Services Musa Konneh also noted that Liberia has made significant mark in the production of cocoa on the world market. According to him, based on the policy regulation put in place and the hard work of his Quality Control staff, Liberia cocoa has now graduated from grade D’ to grade B Also speaking,, Deputy for Operation and Technical Services Musa Konneh said this is the first time for the Country to Produce grade B cocoa something he attributed to the effort being exerted by the Management team of LACRA headed by Dr. Flomo. Director Konneh said the defunt LPMC didn’t produce grade B Cocoa as it being done under the stewardship of President Weah encouraging farmers to double up. He boosted that Liberia will shortly begin producing huge quantity of cocoa with quality beans during the cocoa season which starts from October.
