Monrovia, Liberia – December 23, 2020) – The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Development and Planning has confirmed today, as the official launching date of disbursement of the 1 million United States Dollars Stimulus package to private-schools teaching staff in fulfillment of the pronouncement of His Excellency, Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia. The honorarium will be paid to legitimate private-schools teaching staff as the Government of Liberia’s appreciation of their selfless and invaluable contribution in molding the minds of the upcoming generation during the peak of COVID-19.

Accroding to an Education ministry, the launching program will be held at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, beginning at 10:00 AM, precisely.

Consistent with the directive of His Excellency, the committee set up to conduct the validation ensuring that the fund is paid to intended beneficiaries, comprises technicians of the Ministry of Finance, Internal Audit Agency, Civil Service Agency, National Teachers Association of Liberia, and National Principal Association of Liberia has compiled and validated the eligible beneficiaries who have correctly submitted the required information thus far.

It further said, tomorrow’s launch will mark the beginning of disbursement of the stimulus package to private schools teachers whose information have been reviewed as followed:

Confirmation that the candidates have a valid National Identification Number which is the sole unique identifier used to match against Government payroll and avoid public schools teachers from double-dipping.
Confirmation that the candidate has a valid and registered Mobile Money or Orange Money Number that is registered to the candidates’ name.
Private schools who have not submitted their teachers’ information are encouraged to email the below details to stimuluspackage@moe.gov.lr no later than January 12, 2020.

The school must scan and submit the signed copies of its January, February, and March 2020 payrolls by email
The school must submit the following information about its staff in an Excel format:
Full name of the teacher, gender, DOB, position, subject, Teacher level
National identification number for each teacher
A telephone number for each teacher
Nationality
Available bank accounts / Mobile Money Account number (For each teacher)
