National Elections Commission officially launch civic voter’s education- sets dates for Voter’s Roll Updates.

The National Elections Commission has set September to conduct the Voter’s Roll Updates exercise, in preparation for the December 8 special senatorial elections and Referendum.

In a release issued Wednesday, August 19, NEC asserted that the voter’s Roll Updates will run for 15 days from the 11th to the 25th of September. The release also stated that the voter’s Roll Updates will be conducted in 2080 centers/ precinct across the country.

The release at the same time stressed that there will be several teams of Voter’s Roll Updates personnel and each will travel to assign center, remain there for three days to conduct the VRU and then move to another update center within the same county to continue the exercise.

Meanwhile, the National Elections Committee has said has recruited and trained 146 Civic Educators and 146 Gender Mobilizers across the country.

In a release in possession of Monrovia Latest News NEC went on by saying the outreach will include distribution of flyers, banners, and the use of town criers.

The Commission has also accredited and certificated over 300 Civil Society organizations, Community Based Organization,and Faith Based Organizations that have expressed the desire to assist the commission in the civil education outreach exercise.
