Monrovia- Criminal Court ”A” judge Roosevelt Willie has granted government lawyers continuance in the ongoing trial of Hon Yekeh Kolubah of district 10 law maker among other case.
According to Judge Roosevelt Willie when the case was called the both parties were represented and the prosecution prayed for a submission to be spread on the minutes of the court.
The court noted the representation of the parties and granted the application for the state to make their submission.
In that submission, the prosecution counsel prayed to the court for a continuance in the proceedings on grounds that it need time to secure its second witnesses who were out of the bailiwick of Monrovia.
Prosecution however told the court that it would be prepared to continue these proceeding on Monday, April 13, 2020.
In resisting the motion for continuance, the defendant counsel pray the court to deny said motion for continuance because it could claim bad faith for the purpose of delaying the case and baffling Justice for the alleged criminal attempt to commit murder, kidnapping, solicitation and criminal facilitation charge level against Hon Yekeh Kolubah and others so that it may render the defendants in perpetual violation of their rights.
The defense counsel lawyer Findley Y. Kanga joint with others lawyers further averred that as evident gather to its claim for which this court should deny the prosecution its motion they receive a motion to nolle prose quoi all of the defendants that were indicted with Hon Yekeh Kolubah.
Having listen to all of the arguments of both parties while in court with question and answers on legal grounds, judge Roosevelt Willie of criminal court “A”at Temple of Justice in Monrovia granted the prosecution motion and adjourned the cased for April 13, Monday, 2020 at 11 am in the morning.
