Monrovia- The head of the Council of Patriots (COP), Mr. Henry Costa on Sunday held a press briefing, stating that the government plan to have him remain on Liberian soil; Vows to Host Mass Rallies and Meetings against the government’s alleged “Clandestine Plans” to sell additional oil blocks in the country.
Making clarification on why he didn’t travel on Friday, The had of the COP, and lead talkshow host, Mr. Henry Costa said that he deliberately declined to board his scheduled flight on Brussels Airlines back to the US following a tip off from highly placed sources that immigration authorities were planning to cease his passport on grounds that he allegedly entered the country on forged documents, which prompted his refusal to hand over his passport for a final check-in at the immigration desk at the RIA, thus requesting that his luggage be deplaned and returned to his custody, after which he headed back to Monrovia.
His clarification comes barely hours after an earlier press release from the office of the Bureau of Immigrations that contrary to his earlier claims that he had been prevented by immigration authorities at the RIA from boarding his scheduled flight back to the US, he had, in fact, never encountered any immigration officer at the RIA.
Meanwhile Costa has stated that investigation is still ongoing by the immigration authorities concerning the controversy surrounding the alleged falsified travel document of him, and that he has been prevented from leaving the country until the comprehensive investigation is concluded and a determination reached by the Justice Minister, Cllr. Musa Dean.
In another related development, Mr. Costa has openly challenged the government concerning it’s alleged plans to sell 9 oil blocks in the country, and has vowed to remain in country and organize mass rallies and meetings against this move.
