A Petition to the United States Congress

Ref: CL/USA – AMB/GP – 001/12/13-2019

WHEREAS, we are Concerned Liberians residing in the United States of America representing Liberians in the Diaspora; and

WHEREAS, our peaceful presence and assembly here today represent a collective responsibility aimed at protecting and defending LIBERIA’S Peace, Security, Democracy and Freedom; and,

WHEREAS, Liberia and the United States of America enjoys a long standing Bilateral as well as Multilateral Agreements and Relationships that engender Peace, Security, Freedom, Democracy and Economic Stability; and

WHEREAS, Liberia’s founding and Declaration of Independence is the result of The American Colonization Society which was founded to repatriate “Freed Slaves or Men of Color” back to Africa; and

WHEREAS, Liberia’s Constitution, National Symbols, Holidays and system of government with three equal branches of government is a direct reflection of the United States Government; and

WHEREAS, the Liberian civil war which lasted Fourteen Years was planned, masterminded and orchestrated by Liberians or Descendants of Liberia who resided here in the Americas; and

WHEREAS, the plotters and masterminds of the Liberian Civil War fund raised among themselves to support the war; and

WHEREAS, another ring leader: “Henry P COSTA” and accomplices with similar sinister motives to terrorize Liberia and thereby plunge the country and people in another war; and

WHEREAS, Henry P. Costa and others have been plotting another “December 24th, 1989” style war dubbed “DECEMBER 30TH WEAH MUST STEP DOWN; and

WHEREAS, Costa said emphatically on radio and television that he will buy guns, arm former rebels, hold Police Officers hostage and order the looting of business; and

WHEREAS, he Henry P Costa said he will “drag President George M Weah’s head like a market (stray) dog in the streets of Monrovia; and

WHEREAS, Henry P Costa incited violent protests in Monrovia while being in the USA which caused several deaths at the Catholic Hospital in Sinkor and the destruction of properties in Monrovia; and

WHEREAS, Henry P Costa have said he will order the burning down of the newly constructed Roberts International Airport in Margibi County; and

WHEREAS, Costa was a political contestant in the 2017 General Elections and who did not win the Monsterrado County District #6 Representative Seat; and

WHEREAS, Henry P. Costa is the head of the Council of Patriots, an organization whose only purpose is to organize protests, blackmails that demands the Liberian President’s resignation or forced removal; and

WHEREAS, the United States Embassy near Monrovia and Liberia’s International Partners, i.e., European Union, African Union, United Nations, and ECOWAS, etc. have all in recent times warned against “inciteful and inflammatory” comments by Mr. Costa on social media and radio; and;

WHEREAS, President GEORGE M WEAH at the 74th United Nations General Assembly drew the attention of the world body to the growing concerns of “threats to Liberia’s Peace, Security and Democracy”, not by strangers or outsiders, but the likes of Henry P Costa and accomplices; and

WHEREAS, President Weah extolled the United Nations and countries of the world who gave the ultimate sacrifices and treasured resources to restore Liberia’s Peace, Security, and Democracy;

NOW THEREFORE, WE Concerned Liberians in the United States of America and in Solidarity with Liberians at home and across the Diaspora have RESOLVED; that

  1. It is the Inalienable Rights of the Liberian People to live in Peace and enjoy the Freedom and Security as provided by the Constitution; Be It Further,
  2. RESOLVED, that WE Concerned Liberians are weary and agitated by the indoctrination of LIBERIA’S Future, the Youths into violence and lawlessness by Henry P Costa and Accomplices; and Be It Further;
  3. RESOLVED, that the thought of “Holding Police Officers hostage” is not only criminal, but an act of Terrorism that must be investigated; Be It Further,
  4. RESOLVED, that “re-arming former rebels of the Liberian civil war, instructing them to kill and destroy or cause to destroy the newly built Roberts International Airport in Margibi County, is not only an act of war or terror plot, but also an Economic Crime that must be investigated; Be It Further
  5. RESOLVED, that WE Concerned Liberians at home and abroad deem it abhorrent, appalling and highly detestable to LIBERIA’S Democracy the act of planning and
    staging protests to blackmail, extort and insult Government Officials, a common practice by Henry Costa; Be It Further
  6. RESOLVED, WE Concerned Liberians view the violent protest at the Catholic Hospital dubbed “Free Justin Taylor” in which four Liberians (patients) died as an act of terror, hooliganism, and murder orchestrated by Mr. Henry P Costa, he Costa must be made to answer; Be It Further
  7. RESOLVED, that WE Concerned Liberians hereby call on our International Partners to see these activities, plots, blackmailing and extortions as Terrorism that must claim immediate attention; Be It Further
  8. RESOLVED, that LIBERIA’S PEACE, SECURITY AND DEMOCRACY has been the sacrifices and efforts of all Peace Loving countries around the world and must not be allowed to result into another war; Be It Further
  9. RESOLVED, WE Concerned Liberians call on Congress to launch an immediate investigation into Mr. Henry P Costa and Accomplices for crimes committed against the Liberian People and their Terroristic threats; and Be It Further
  10. RESOLVED, that Enough is Enough, No More War, Let the People Live in Peace, Let the Children Play again, allow LIBERIA to be Peaceful, Secured and Democratic.
