Monrovia- The has confirmed that player Tonia Tisdell has been released from the Lonestar camp due to indiscipline. It was reported Thursday that Tonia Tisdell has been asked to leave the camp but the LFA was tight-lipped on the issue, saying it will issue a statement.
At midnight last night, the FA issued a release stating:
” Liberia Football Association (LFA) has, with immediate effect, released midfielder Tonia Tisdell from engagement with Liberia.
Tonia’s Cypriot club, Nea Salamis Famagusta, has been informed about his expulsion and a flight is being arranged for his return as soon as possible.
The LFA’s action followed a decision from Liberia coach Peter Butler, who complained of Tonia’s “indiscipline behavior and general disrespect to teammates and technical staff as well as the public” to LFA President Mustapha Raji on Thursday.
According to coach Butler, Tonia has also shown disrespect to the code of conduct, adopted by the LFA late July, and delivered to all players following their arrival in Monrovia.
“We believe that it is with pride that all professional Liberians would love to showcase his/her talent, skill and or knowledge for the betterment of Liberia.

“With this in mind, we must be cognizant of our duty as role models for the youngsters to emulate.
“As a consequence of your insolent acts as stated above and reported by the head coach, we have no other alternative but to release you from the camp henceforth,” said LFA secretary-general Isaac Montgomery in a letter to Tonia on Thursday.
Tonia has 13 caps for Liberia, having made his debut in a goalless draw against Algeria at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in a 2010 World Cup qualifier on 11 October 2008. He is one of the players the counter can boost of in the present generation of Liberian players.
This is not the first time a of the national team has expelled from the Lonestar camp. It can be recalled former Lonestar coach Betenah Bissick expelled Francis Grandpa Doe, Dulee Johnson and Dioh Williams for breaking camp rules.
