No Save Zone For Armed Robbers As LNP Arrests Two More Armed Robbers Outside Monrovia

Monrovia-The Liberia National Police has intensified it night patrol lately in and around Monrovia.

In a LNP release, the LNP says In furtherance of the its robust night Patrol operation aimed at curbing armed robbery and other crimes, the Anti-robbery Unit of the Liberia National Police has arrested a recidivist, Emmanuel Johnson, alias, “Wallace” and his accomplice, Saar Bundo for alleged armed robbery.

The two suspected armed robbers were arrested for their alleged involvement in the armed robbery incident which occurred in the UTE community, kilometer # 7, Benson River community, Grand Bassa County on Saturday August 31,2019 at approximately 0250hrs.

Notorious suspect Emmanuel Johnson and Saar Bundo armed with a single barrel shot gun and other deadly weapons entered the UTE compound and placed the security guards under gun point and made away with one Samsung tablet; one Dell laptop, one Huawei honor 6n (phone), one Huawei honor 6p, US$4,000, 300 Euros and L$500 respectively. The Anti-Robbery Unit was also able to seize the vehicle marked LB A25452 which was used during the commission of the crime.

The alleged suspects were arrested based upon tip-off from some community residents while attempting to flee the scene, the security manager of the company identified as Guessan Gersone, an Ivorian National was beaten by the robbers and is undergoing medication at medical facility in the county.

The LNP has also launched a manhunt for other accomplices who are said to have aided and abetted the commission of the robbery and are on the run.
Meanwhile, the suspects are currently undergoing further investigation at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police pending prosecution.

In a related Development, The LNP says public is urged to continue the proactive disclosure of information on crimes to the Police for immediate response.
