Monrovia Aug. 28,2019- Ahead of the conduct or a contentious, decisive re-run of the District 15 by-election at disbursed centers, leading members of Telia Urey’s Campaign have defected to Candidate Abu Kamara.

Philip Watkins, Candidate Urey’s Vice Chairman for Administration, Melvin Jansen- Media Chair, Alexander Nyanti- head of propaganda and others late Tuesday held a news conference to announce their shocking departure.

Watkins, Jansen and Nyanti accused Ms. Urey of plotting to scrip Looking Town off the district’s administrative seat and relocate same to Caldwell, which many consider her strong hold.

They believe such plan is divisive and doesn’t represent the true spirit or leadership anchored on unity and inclusivity.

They accused Ms Urey, the daughter of Businessman and political Leader of ALP, Benoni Urey of cajoling them into believe that she is a resident of District 15 and has been living there for years.

Philip Watkins, one of the defected Urey supports told journalists “many times we went to her house and saw people hauling things. We were cajoled to believe that she lives in the district”

Watkins who accused Telia Urey of being controlled by her father Benoni Urey continued that Ms Urey misinformed them that she has been registered in the district since 2011, but when pressed further, she failed to substantiate the claim.

“Since this is the case, then why is it that things are continuously being hauled in this place, Watkins noted he and others inquired from T Urey as she again failed to respond.

Since the inception of the disputed District 15 By Election, the question of whether or not Telia Urey is a resident of District 15 remains a misery to many; though Ms Urey has repeatedly contended that she resides in the district.

According to the men who endorsed the candidature of Abu Kamara, it would be a massive error on the part of the constituency to have Telia Urey- a non-resident elected representative while one of their kid is denied the opportunity to serve.

They said Ms Urey has clearly demonstrated to be insincere to her conscience that she succeeded in deceiving many to support her on propaganda, lies and misinformation.

As the National Elections Commission conducted a re-run at 20 polling center in Looking Town which considered Abu’s strongest vote area, Watkins, Jansen and Nyanti pleaded with the register voters in the area to reject candidate Urey in favor of Mr Abu Bana Kamara of the Coalition for Democratic Change.
