Monrovia- Abu Kamara of the CDC has Condemned The violence in the District and has called for reconciliation meeting among residents in the district. In a Facebook press statement, Mr. Kamara writes:

My fellow citizens and residents of our beloved District #15….

Yesterday, we witnessed another epistle of an act of electoral violence within our District. I write to condemn the act of electoral violence yesterday and in past which is strange to our trending political history in District #15.

I am ultimately concern with the escalating tension and violence erupting fears into residents of our District and contaminating the peace we enjoy. We must stop the fears and electoral violence by all means possible and free our people from this political servitude.

Forthrightly, I am condemning the act of violence between Ms. Telia Urey and her team and including our supporters on yesterday with my least concerns of whom push-started the action. I urged my partisans, supporters, sympathizers and others who just joined our campaign from the camps of Mr. Kelvin Bayoh, Mr. Amos Tubor and Mr. L. Chappy Kamara to detached and avoid any act of violence and remain calm as we progress to election. The epistle of violence yesterday and the previous are fast approaching to dividing our people and landing our fate into a doom of anarchy- ‘Liberia Stands beyond us’.

It was the first time ever I saw my family shivering with fear and trauma from sounds and cracks from stones thrown. Cars parked in and around my compound owned by family and friends were also vandalized.

As a custodian of peace and that the lives and peace of our people is far more important than our personal quest, I am using this conduit to stretch arm to meeting Ms. Telia Urey and her team of managers, the district governing council, the district religious leaders and all stakeholders including candidates of the by-election of our district for a reconciliation meeting in a secluded environment to mend relation and mitigate future violence and put the interest of the people above our ego.

Once again, I condemn the act of electoral violence and cautioned all involved parties especially my supporters to remain steadfast to peace and remain calm by avoiding all forms of violence to enjoy our fragile peace…

Thanks and I’m looking forward to amend the peace!

May God bless our District and keep the PEACE..
