Indian Government Reaffirms Commitment To Develop Bali Island

Monrovia- The Indian Government through its Ambassador accredited to Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea and Liberia, Sailas THANGAL has reaffirmed his government’s commitment in constructing and modernizing the Mahatma Gandhi Island, previously known as the Bali Island.


President George Manneh Weah on Monday, March 26, 2018 toured the Bali Island, which is situated in the middle of the Mesurado River. The Liberian leader intends to transform Bali Island into the New Monrovia commencing with the construction of a state-of-the-art International Conference Center and other standardized structures in honor of an Indian Icon, Mahatma Gandhi.
Speaking recently at the Foreign Affairs during the ceremony of US$2m grant to between the government of Liberia and India for the finance the construction of the military hospital, Ambassador THANGAL said the Mahatma Gandhi Island will be constructed and modernized to a new city.
According to the Indian envoy, his government is excited about the corporation between the two countries, adding that India is working with Liberia to enhance the relationship in helping to build every sectors of Liberia.
In a related development, the Indian Ambassador said his government is also committed to the construction of the promised, Mahatma Gandhi conference hall on the Mahatma Gandhi Island, previously known as the Bali Island.


Though he was not exact as to when the project will commence, but the Indian Ambassador maintained that his government is doing all in her possible strengthen to live up to her commitment made to the Liberian Government.
He as his government to was committed to providing the US$2m for the completion of the military hospital, which was symbolically delivered, “in the same manner, my government is committed to providing 50vehicles and to construct and modernized the Island,” he said.
