Monrovia, Liberia- August 8, 2019: This Is A Guest Editorial From An Insider info On Why CDC Lost The Montsorrado County Bi-election in which the opposition considered a big boost for them.

An insider of the Coalition for Democratic Change who begs Us not to be named in this editorial, which he penned to us, has given his reasons why the CDC lost the Montsorrado Senatorial seat.
Here is the reasons given to us below by our guest writer:
CDC, our party lost the Montsorrado county senatorial race because of these reasons: a. Our Campaigns were poorly managed b. Our campaign team had some people who have integrity problems c. Due to Weak media publicity and the poor usuage of the mass media d. Our law makers(CDC law makers) didn’t put themselves out in their respective district to campaign for the party and e. Disunity in the Coalition.
What do I mean when I try to list these things above?
When I say Our Campaigns were poorly managed, I mean poor managed. We ( CDC) never campaign in most of our stronghold like West point, New Kru Town, and even Clara- Doe community area. We managed the campaigns poorly in the sense that we forget to tell our people what is happening in the country and what president Weah is trying to do change their lives to persuade our people who have turned their back away from us due negative propaganda from the oppositions and the prevailing economic hardship in the country.
Another reason is that, Our campaign team had some people who have integrity problems and having those people at the top of our campaign team in the bi-elections in Montsorrado was one of the big mistakes by our party and that was one of reasons we lost senatorial seat.
For instance, Hon. Acarious Gary, who was our campaigns’ spokesman, have been accused by some residents of his district for misapplication of money intended for the fight against Ebola. Even at that, some people of his district are saying that he is not representing the district properly thus making the district to under represented. So tell me, how can Hon. Gary convince people of his district and other districts to vote for us. Many of us who campaigned and voted for president Weah have been denied jobs but over the times, we have heard some people from the oppositions saying that our party chairman Mulbah Murlu and some executives of the party have sole most of the jobs intended for some partisans. How can a chairman who is shinning but his partisans are dusty off, how can he convince his partisans to vote for the party. I even learned that some money was given to our chairman by President Weah to be distributed to all district coordinators for campaign purposes but that money was not seem. I even asked some of partisans who served as poll watchers, whether the party brough food for them, they all told me that no one of them eat during the bi-elections.
One of the major reasons that we lost the Montsorrado county bi-election is Due to Weak media publicity and the poor usuage of the mass media. Our media publicity was very weak because we never used most of the radio stations that have large audience. Our candidates didn’t make any radio appearance. Our station, Kings fm in which most of partisans listen to, never had any promo from the party. Our publicity is was poor because most of time we were attacking real issues during the campaign but rather personalities.
Another reason why we lost Montsorrado senatorial seat is that Our law makers(CDC law makers) didn’t put themselves out in their respective district to campaign for the party. Most of our representatives in Montsorrado didn’t campaign for us in their respective district because of some reasons like under performance, the failure of some of them to present their legislative report among others.
Finally, Disunity in the Coalition: Disunity in the Coalition was one of the main reasons lost the bi-election. From my own observation is all about jobs. Some of the Coalition like LPDP, and NPP members are not happy how they have been left out of the Coalition government lucrative job or even appointment. According to some of friends from those parties, say they are angry and can’t support the Congress for Democratic Change candidate.
To conclude, I think is now time president come-in to listen and have a round table discussion with every member of the Coalition.
Many thanks to Monrovia Latest News for helping me published what I think was the reasons we lost the senatorial race.
