Ganta, Nimba County- In recognition of his invaluable, dedicated peacebuilding and humanitarian contributions to the muslim community of Nimba and Liberia at large, the Nimba County Mandingoes Association (NICOMA) Incorporated in conjunction with the Concerned Mandingoes Society of Liberia (COMASL),Inc. and the Liberia Muslims Union (LIMU),Inc has gowned and certificated Honourable Dorwohn Twain Gleekia, Representative of Electoral District#6, Nimba.
Giving the overview and purpose of the gowning and honoring, the Liaison Officer of the Liberia Muslims Union, Nimba Chapter,Sidike’ Kromah said NICOMA decided to honor the Nimba Lawmaker due to his invaluable steps taken in the renovation of the Tappita Mosque and the Islamic School in Tappita City, Lower Nimba.
Mr. Kromah recounted Representative Gleekia’s recent visit to the Republic of Turkey where he met with Islamic leaders and explained challenges faced by muslims in Nimba County and Liberia at large.
Sidike’Kromah used the occasion to called on other leaders of Nimba and Liberia at large to follow the good example of Hon Gleekia.

In response, Representative Dorwohn Gleekia thanked the Nimba County Mandingoes Association (NICOMA) and partners for the honor bestowed upon him, adding that it came as a surprise.
Representative Gleekia who dedicated the honor to the peace-loving people of Nimba and Liberia, recommitted himself to zero tolerance on religion in District#6 and peaceful co-existence.
He disclosed that the renovation of the Tappita Mosque was triggered by his recent visit to the Republic of Turkey where he met with prominent muslims, explaining to them issues faced by muslims in Nimba and Liberia at large.

The estimated cost of the renovation work on the Tappita Mosque is US$10,000.
Representative Dorwohn Twain Gleekia is the current Chairman of House of Representatives’ Committee on Peace and Reconciliation.
The gowning and honoring program which took place Sunday, July 28,2019 at the Concerned Women Hall in Ganta, was graced by Representative Roger Domah (District#7, Nimba County) Representative Alexander Paul( District#1, River Gee County) and Nimba County Superintendent D Dorr Cooper, respectively.
