CDC chairman Morlu should stop the unnecessary attacks and help president Weah in the dialoguing process

A special Editorial: CDC chairman Morlu should stop the unnecessary attacks and help president Weah in the dialoguing process.

Over the past days, president weah has been inviting some prominent citizens including former vice president Joseph Boakai and former president madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in his way of dialoguing with them on national issues and help in the reconciliations process.

But the past days, chairman has launched wide attacks on former president Sirleaf, ALP standard bearer Beniou Urey, Lonestar cell MTN, ANC leader Alexander Cummings among others as supporters of the much talked about June 7 anti-government protest.

Mr. Mulbah Morlu did not give evidence to back his claim, but said CDC has intelligence.

According to the CDC chairman, former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was allegedly angry because her son, Mr. Charles Sirleaf was arrested and imprisoned in connection with the 16 billion Liberian dollars saga. Charles, who is currently on bail, is charged with economic sabotage and other crimes.

The CDC Chairman also said Benoni Urey, Alexander Cummings of the ANC and other prominent Liberians who he said are openly and secretly supporting the protest. “Those who are planning this protest should be aware that we know them and any chaos they will be held responsible,” the Chairman of the ruling party warned.

Mr. Morlu said when those who are planning the protest started with ‘Weah Step down, but said since they were not getting the support from the citizens, they changed it to ‘Save the State’. According to him, the intention of those who are planning the protest is to convince the citizens under the name save the state.

CDC chairman Mulbah Morlu

Speaking during a news conference on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the CDC headquarters in Monrovia, Chairman Morlu launched wild allegations against some of the individuals who are planning the June 7 protest.

He those who are organizing the pending protest are all individuals with bad records who are willing to revert Liberia’s gains made to its bitter past.

But we at Monrovia Latest News think that the CDC chairman should stop rising the tension with allegations that he can’t proof.

We say the CDC chairman Morlu should stop the unnecessary attacks and help president Weah in the dialoguing process by reaching out to opposition political parties and making friends in the oppositions rather than them his enemies. Liberia is for every Liberian and not one set of group.

A united nation is bond to succeed as such, we once again say CDC chairman Morlu should stop the unnecessary attacks and help president Weah in the dialoguing process.
