Monrovia, Liberia -As his way of calming down tensions from the impeachment of Associate Justice Kabineh Jan’eh, former minister of Finance, Hon. Amara Konneh has called supporters and his mandingo king’s men to not let theie disappointment turn into anger and division.

Former finance minister Amara Konneh

In a special message Hon.Konneh said “Everytime there’s an institutional issue like an impeachment, there’s concern from those outside government about what will happen, especially from the political, tribal and religious quarters of the accused who may consider such an action as either excluding or marginalizing them. This is perfectly understandable. In post conflict countries like Liberia, exclusion and marginalization are two major drivers of conflict and violence”.

He further call on all supporters of former Justice Kabineh Janneh including my Mandingo and Muslim brothers and sisters to be calm and measured in their reactions to the Senate’s decision on his removal from office. We should instead celebrate Brother Janneh’s service to our country. At a time like this, caution is our best friend. Don’t let our disappointment turn into anger and division. Liberians from all tribes and faiths are as disappointed as you are. It’s better to work together, on common ground, than to make this incident into another point of societal division. We know all too well what division reaps. In all things, let’s stand united as one nation.

To conclude his message, former minister Konneh quote Benjamin Franklin by saying, there was never a good war or a bad peace.
