Cllr Pearl Brown Bull says the constitution needs to be tested in justice Ja’neh trial

Monrovia, Liberia – Cllr Pearl Brown Bull says the constitution of Liberia needs to be tested in the impeachment proceeding of Kabineh Ja’neh.


The former chairperson of the grievances committee of lawyers at the supreme court of Liberia, cllr pearl Brown Bull has said the constitution of Liberia needs to be tested in regards to the impeachment proceeding of Kabineh Jan’eh.


Speaking on Thursday February 28, 2019 in an interview with reporters including our reporter at the grounds of the capitol Building in Monrovia,
Cllr. Bull noted that the constitution was also tested in the past when a first female judge of the supreme court was impeached by the house of representative.


Cllr bull also narrated that the legislature in the past used to do it as a joint resolution by dividing into counties through impeachment proceeding.
She added that the Legislature, Executive and judiciary branch are consistent with the separation of power and it should be based on check and balance.

Cllr Bull said the 19 86 Constitution was written by 39 individuals and it was done through a geographical balance.


“Let the process goes through when it is fraud, the people will investigate”, she said.


She further said that article 43 in the constitution gives the legislature the power to impeach public officials on the basics of the due process of the law.
According to cllr. Bull the impeachment proceeding of the associate justice of the supreme court is not a regular battle as people perceived it to be but this trial is in conformation with the constitution.
